About Me (interests, hobbies, family, ministry, etc.):: Hi all! I am a fairly new friend (of a friend) of the Loves and am enjoying getting acquainted with their ministry. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and work in an acute care inpatient setting. December 1 we are launching a residential PTSD recovery program for active duty soldiers (US Army). With God's grace and the prayer of friends Soldiers who have returned from Afghanistan and Iraq will find relief from the trauma of war that some have brought home with them.

THEN there is......a birdwatching passion, 2500 gallons of outdoor goldfish ponds, my 89 year old Mother and my friends in the Body who remind me who I am in Christ when it all gets a bit overwhelming.

A girlfriend told me last week that she had been searching for Thanksgiving "stuff" for her home to make the holiday a little more special this year. One of my favorite ways to honor our Lord is to enjoy the bounty of creatures He created for us. I used to be a quite casual observer of birds, most often interacting with them in relationship to my car....cleaning up after them or maneuvering to avoid hitting them. I've read several blogs by pure happenstance this week (Thank you Lord) and it seems a good day to start my own. I suspect the content as it goes will reveal why...I have no real goal in mind. I was told this week by a psychiatrist in Washington DC (who treated one of my patients while he was at Walter Reed) that he had exhausted his expertise with this soldier and sent him to our trauma program "because you're the experts".
