All creatures great and small

One of my favorite ways to honor our Lord is to enjoy the bounty of creatures He created for us. I used to be a quite casual observer of birds, most often interacting with them in relationship to my car....cleaning up after them or maneuvering to avoid hitting them. Once in awhile I would feed some...at a restaurant or park but mostly they struck me as brown, messy and visible only when creating problems. Initially with a "beat em or join em" motivation I watched birds fairly casually, but now w… Continue

Weight Loss Honesty: Day 5

I stood staring at our tall, lean oldest son whose face had become bronzed from many hours in the South Georgian sun. He had just completed Advanced Infantry Training for the Army and it was hard to take my eyes off of him. The transformation into a warrior must have been an incredibly difficult process. Weight Loss Honesty: Day 3

Weight Loss Honesty: Day 3

This grumpy roommate is never happy unless you do everything she wants all the time. Why would we put up with that kind of behavior in our own home? Let me quickly remind my dear reader that this blog is not about child-raising or cranky spouses and family members. Instead today we are looking into why… Continue

Weight Loss Honesty: Day 2

Weight Loss Honesty: Day 2
I have discovered that good intentions never bring results. I have had lots of good intentions over the years. Yesterday I told David to wake me up at 5:45 AM so we could do our dai… Continue
