Hi Everyone,
I just wanted to give you all an update on what the cardiologist said at my visit today.
Jim and I really liked Dr. Mooreman, he seems very knowledgeable. He said I have Arrhythmia or Tachycardia. The monitor that I wore showed both Atrial and Ventrical Arrhythmia lines, but even with this information it is hard to tell in my case which chamber is causing the problem and in some cases both can be the culprit. Basically my normal heart rate is around 80 and then for a few seconds it goes to 160 causing the Arrhythmia. The doctor said that if I have a healthy heart that this does not pose any serious problems, it is just a minor inconvenience to have your heart do double-time for a few seconds but not life threatening. He wants to do an Echocardiogram to determine my heart’s health. If this is normal, which he feels it will be then he said that there is nothing to worry about. In some cases they do a procedure called Ablation to prevent the Arrhythmia, but this is not a 100% cure and Dr. Mooreman said he doesn’t think this will be necessary.
I do not have Afib which is when the heart speeds up for longer periods and does not go back into rhythm, but my high blood pressure and weight can eventually cause Afib. Dr. Mooreman feels that the best thing I can do for my health is loose weight. I will be having the Echocardiogram done next Thursday and will keep you all posted.
Thank you all for your prayers. Stay warm! Love you all. Deb
